About this deal

By using the fictional toad Robert de Board enables the reader to maintain some distance from personal insights that may emerge and reflect safely on them. As the reader learns about Toad, the story sheds light on our own lives, psychological growth and development. Cuốn sách mở ra với việc một người bạn phát hiện ra nhân vật Ngài Cóc đang ở trạng thái rất rất tệ với những triệu chứng của trầm cảm, thậm chí là suicidal ideation (ý định tự tử).

This delightful read doesn’t just illustrate the power of transactional analysis, it demonstrates how our experiences shape our interaction with the world around us, enabling us to see both through a clearer lens. it is a fairly interesting book, appears simple at the first glance but offers lots of food for thoughts. Heron helps Toad identify the root of his problems and finds a way to help him rebuild a healthy life. It followed well of the classic story and provided a great in sight into, what I think is often considered the least favourable character.By completing your purchase, you agree to Audible's Conditions of Use and authorise Audible to charge your designated card or any other card on file. I’ve read so much over the years and forgotten much of what I’ve read as well as experiencing formal counselling , studying counselling and offering active listening to others, but none of that prepared me for the devastation of living with the mental breakdown of a close family member who veered between “you’re ok I’m not ok “ to “I’m ok you’re not ok “ in rapid and often frightening ways . Mình khá thích sơ đồ vị thế sống vì nó giúp mình nhìn nhận lại bản thân và hiểu hơn hành vi của mình. Câu đầu tiên đại khái là: You won't always get the answers or apologies for the things that hurt you. He insisted on carrying out a fitness regimen that he did not like and chose a major at Cambridge that his father was satisfied with.

It illustrates well the unavoidable paradoxes of human existence and psyche, such as that harm is inherent in childhood (simply because a baby is born entirely helpless and dependent on others) and inevitably (that is not to say deliberately) harm is caused to children by their caregivers and that truly growing up is necessary to live a deeply fulfilled and authentic life but unfortunately, to get there is necessarily painful to look honestly at one's past, shed its influence and start actively choosing for yourself. The author’s deep contemplation and broad view on the subject, can make reading much easier for people who both do not understand it and are exploring it for the first time. Instead, he slowly builds a sense of trust with Toad, patiently listens to Toad’s woeful past, and then gives targeted guidance.Toad's depression, though it has a lot to do with the people and things that surround him currently, is rooted in his original family. I read this every year without fail and if you have ever had a problem in your family about who is bossing you about and how to get through this as an adult then have a read. The book offers a number of lifelong social rules that break down the way people think about social behavior. At these times, it is important to get help from a therapist, find the cause, heal yourself, and regain your hope and energy.

However as I read on I began to recognise that de Board was doing something quite clever and gentle. They want to help us to adapt to the rules and belief systems in this current nightmare; until a day comes when we start to educate ourselves to be like obedient animals with freedom taken from us. The liveliness of his present makes Toad forget the loneliness in his past, but when there is nothing to do, he often feels sad and lonely. It can help people change their casual behaviors in life, build more valuable relationships and achieve greater success.
